Uttar Pradesh Welfare for People Living with HIV/AIDS Society (UPNPplus) is a community based, non-profit organization representing the needs of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV).



This focuses on the models of care and support services to the PLHIV irrespective of age and gender, Link with Govt. Welfare Scheme, Education Support, Nutrition Support and Psychosocial support.


Core Component

All the activities of the Society are focused on a triangular approach covering the components of Advocacy, Network Building and Service Delivery. The triangle reflects the strong connectivity among these three components - each component can only be strengthened when the other 2 are strengthened.

Uttar Pradesh Welfare for People Living with HIV/AIDS Society (UPNPplus) is a community based, non-profit organization representing the needs of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV). UPNPplus is founded by a group of HIV positive people in 2004 and was registered in 2005, managed and run by people living with HIV in Uttar Pradesh. UPNPplus promotes holistic and participatory approach for community empowerment and gives priority to PLHIV (especially women and children).


Uttar Pradesh Welfare for People Living with HIV/AIDS Society (UPNPplus) implementing ‘Global fund supported ‘IAPSI’ AHANA Project: Improved Access to PMTCT public sector Services in 37 districts in the state Uttar Pradesh with support of Plan India as a PR Goal “The Program specifically looks at building skills (facilitate) at institutional (Strengthened peripheral health workers under the general health system) and community levels to increase uptake of PPTCT Services in Highly vulnerable districts”. Applications are invited for the below mentioned multiple positions.


Job Title: Project Officer (PO) [1 Post]

Location: Mirzapur and Sonbhadra districts of Uttar Pradesh


Role and responsibility:

·         Guiding and mentoring the Field Officer

·         Participate in district level planning of outreach strategies

·         Preference will be candidate with experience in HIV

·         Day to day supervision of the outreach work undertaken by the Field Officer

·         Coordinate with frontline health workers such as ANMs, MPWs, AWWs and ASHA for ensuring referrals and testing of pregnant women for HIV testing

·         Maintain rapport with local health units and facilitate access to services

·         Coordinate with District AIDS Prevention and Control Units (DAPCU), National Health Mission (NHM), ICTCs, ART centres and Privet Sector units or any other programme

·         Establish linkages with other HIV related programs such as Link Workers Schemes, Targeted interventions and ‘Vihaan’ Care & Support Centres

·         Facilitate with Health care setting in public sector as well as privet sector

·         Coordinate with District Level PLHIV networks for ensuring referral of HIV positive pregnant women for prophylaxis and for Care and support infants born to HIV positive mothers

·         Receive and compile reports of work done by Field Officers

·         Monitor and assure a minimum standard of output expected of Field Officers

·         Coordinate at district level for delivering activities of the project

·         Coordinate with the project functionaries of Sub-Recipient

·         Verify MIS documents maintained by Field Officer authenticate as per audit guideline and transfer it into electronic version every week.

·         Carry out Data Quality Assurance in the district

·         Develop the district wise weekly report consolidating the report from Field Officer

·         Develop and submit the District wise Monthly report consolidating the weekly report


Person Specification:

Required experience/skills/qualities:

·         Bachelor’s degree in MSW, social sciences, health or development field (or equivalent)

·         At least 3 to 5 years of relevant project management experience in the health or development sectors, including at least 2 years middle management experience

·         2 years’ experience of working in health systems with PPTCT or MCH related programme, will be preferred.

·         Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of development issues and HIV epidemic(s) in India, particularly in relation to PPTCT

·         Excellent analytical, writing and verbal communication skills

·         Excellent skills in using MS office

·         Experience of working with multiple stakeholders in civil society and grass root level government health department

·         Experience of providing technical support to especially those working at the community or grass root level

·         Ability and willingness to undertake extensive travel, primarily within the state/s

·         Strong commitment to HIV and AIDS and sexual and reproductive health and rights

·         Fluent in English, Hindi and/or (any other regional languages)

·         Special priority in experience of Global Fund Project experience.

·         People living with HIV candidate will gate relaxation in designed qualification.


Salary: CTC:- 300,000 Per Annum
